I have just watched all three episodes to the Dambusters Story.

It is one of the best aviation documentaries I have ever seem. When you see the determination, ages, conditions these pilots operated in it really makes you take into consideration where this current generation has allowed itself to lead itself.

The men in this documentary were fearless and leaders who also understood discipline and professionalism.

Overall to be frank, I am ashamed that so many from this era, from every segment of society and service, risked thier life’s or ultimately gave them for protecting society for us to have allowed it to become so disrespectful and unhinged.

You can still build a classic homebuilt from plans. There are still parts available to help with the tricky items. This Midget Mustang, N6V was the first one I think. I flew along with this airplane in 1969 to the EAA convention in Rockford (the year before it moved to OSH), and I remember the pilot talking about it being the original MM. Oh, how I wanted something like this. Or a Cassatt racer. Something I could build on a teenager budget.

Any idea why this project failed?

(Of course, there was no parachute)
