A really superior airplane.

I think the series is really getting interesting.

Congradulations on Pork Chopper.

I’m really looking forward to the Airshow episode with David Martin.

Corsair is one of my favorites.

I really think the Navy had a better machine than the Air Force in sticking with radial engines instead of liquid cooling.

The radial engine was really easy to design an increase in power by adding another row of cylinders. The trick was simply getting air for cooling on each cylinder.

Increasing horsepower on a liquid cooled was a different animal.

Richard that is really cool. P-51 is a icon.

Commented on RV-8R radial engine.

I’d really like to know how this performs.

With the high deck behind the cockpit I do wonder if they get low speed rudder blanking during the landing roll.

Twin engine, canard, external bracing, open cockpit.

A lot going on there.

Howard Hughes in the F11 photo/recon aircraft he was testing and crashed in. 6000hp it was weed construction and actually a derivative of an earlier design that was kept so secret only a few photos are known to exist. it was a disappointment in performance and lost in a hangar fire, but later used as a starting point in design in making the H11.

Vertical T/O and Land
The research started very early but it is still really the domain of the helicopter. I have rad the Marine version of the F35 is very marginal in the VTOL segment of its performance even when lightly loaded.
